08/04/09 - Illinois EPA refers Iroquois County swine facility to Attorney General for enforcement
Agency alleges water pollution caused by illegal manure discharge
SPRINGFIELD—Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott has asked the Illinois Attorney General’s office to proceed with enforcement action against the owners of R3E LLC for violations of the Illinois Environmental Protection Act and Illinois Pollution Control Board regulations, for the illegal discharge of liquid manure into waterways in Iroquois County, Illinois, causing substantial danger to the environment and to public health.
07/30/09 - Illinois EPA Announces Federal Recovery Fund Awards for Projects in Metro East
EAST ST. LOUIS – On behalf of Governor Pat Quinn, Illinois EPA Director Doug Scott today joined federal, state and local officials to announce grants and loans for environmental projects throughout the Metro East area to improve the land, water and air in Illinois, using funds, from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The Recovery program was authorized earlier this year by the Congress and President Barack Obama.

Agency alleges illegal waste tire storage created a habitat for disease carrying mosquitoes
SPRINGFIELD—Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott has asked the Illinois Attorney General’s office to proceed with enforcement action against Northern Illinois Towing for open dumping and for illegal management of waste tires, which contained disease carrying mosquito larvae.
