Purpose of Illinois Link
The Illinois Link system provides cash and food stamp benefits electronically through the individual's Illinois Link account. Benefits can be accessed using the Illinois Link card that is similar to a bank debit
card.
The Illinois Link Card
Anyone who receives cash assistance or food stamps will receive these benefits
on a plastic card that looks like a credit or bankcard.
Only one Illinois Link card is issued per case. It is issued to the payee of the case. The Illinois Link card is used to access cash and food stamp benefits. A customer who is eligible for both cash and food stamp benefits can access both
benefits with one card.
