To meet readers' specific information needs, BJA publishes program briefs, bulletins, monographs, and training manuals.Program Briefs
Program Briefs provide brief descriptions of major BJA-funded programs. The audience includes federal, state, and local policymakers; individuals involved with the criminal justice system; the general public; and other targeted audiences.
Bulletins
Bulletins allow BJA to quickly disseminate information on emerging issues or promising programs to policymakers and practitioners. Bulletins—no more than 24 pages in length—provide a program description, including implementation, and program experiences, including examples from the field.
Monographs
Monographs are full-length reports that examine in detail a promising program or issue or a specific part of a promising program. BJA's audience includes individuals with authority and resources for criminal justice policymaking or managing criminal justice agencies.
Training Manuals
Training manuals provide a detailed curriculum for teaching the operation of a proven program before its implementation and generally include both instructions for trainers and exercises for students. Training manuals are intended for program managers and supervisors responsible for the operation of a program and the development of staff resources.
