Nevada’s GEAR UP program offers opportunities for students, parents, educators and schools. GEAR UP provides services to:

Increase basic academic skills to enable students to succeed in postsecondary education.
Improve GEAR UP schools through coordination with school improvement plans and to increase a common understanding of P-16 articulation issues among Nevada middle and high schools.
Increase GEAR UP student access to postsecondary education options. GEAR UP students may be eligible for up to $10,000 if they participate in GEAR UP, graduate from high school with a 2.0 GPA or higher and attend a Nevada college or university.

Currently thirty Nevada high schools are receiving GEAR UP services.
