• The Youth & Referrals report is available in either a full report format or individually by county.  The statewide and individual county reports include the introduction and appendices from the full report. 

Detention Admissions Reasons by Demographics -- a unique count of admissions to a detention facility during the year, by the reason the youth was admitted to the facility and demographic characteristic (gender, age, and race/ethnicity) of the youth being admitted.

Detention Length of Stay by Demographics -- for each detention release during the year, the length of time spent in the facility (length of stay) by demographic characteristic (gender, age, and race/ethnicity) of the youth.  (The admission may have occurred prior to the reporting year.)

Detention Length of Stay by Admission Reason -- For each detention release during the year, the number of days the youth spent in the facility (length of stay) by the reason the youth was admitted to the facility.  (Note: The associated “admission” may have occurred in a prior reporting year.)

 

• The Detention report is available in either a full report format or individually by county.  The statewide and individual county reports include the introduction from the full report.

Dispositions of Youth -- The number of youth that received a disposition by the juvenile justice system during the reporting year.  Youth on the Disposition of Youth report are reported in the most intense disposition category imposed for that youth during the year and in the county that imposed the disposition.

Dispositions of Referrals -- The number of referrals that received a disposition by the juvenile justice system during the reporting year.  Referrals on the Disposition of Referrals report are reported in the most intense disposition category imposed for that referral during the year.

Disposition of Referrals by Offense Category -- The number of referrals that received a disposition by the juvenile justice system during the year by offense category.  Dispositions are reported in the most intense disposition on the referral.  The offense category is the most serious offense associated with the most intense disposition on the referral.   (See the report´s Appendices A & B for more detail.)

NOTE:  Prior to publication of the 2006 report, the Disposition of Referrals by Offense Category was in two parts -- one with referral information and the other included the demographic complement for the referrals.  In the Disposition reports published since 2006, this section appears as a single report.
