Pursuant to recent announcements by the President and Secretary of State, the Under Secretary of State for Management has approved interim changes amending the Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR) to extend allowances and benefits to domestic partners of U.S. government civilian employees.

The interim changes effective July 5, 2009 for the Department of State remain in force. The final changes will be published August 30, 2009 with TL:SR 715 to give other agencies time to complete their coordination in order to implement the changes in their own regulations. Below are links to the interim regulations as approved by the Under Secretary of State for Management.
