Where do you work? In the Architecture Branch of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, Ala.
How long have you worked for the Corps? Five months for the Corps and nine years in the private sector.
In your own words, what is your job? What do you do? As Center of Standardization team lead, I develop the Army design standard for certain facilities around the country and oversee the implementation of the standard in the field. I provide technical support to other programs and engineering disciplines by offering guidance and expertise in the field of construction. I utilize B.I.M (Building Information Modeling) 3D design, to improve coordination with other engineering disciplines and promote an enhanced since of team work. I provide leadership in sustainable green design and construction.
How do you see your job making a difference and contributing to the Corps’ success? As part of a larger team, we help to orchestrate the creation of a better design, better functional product and better living environment for the Army and citizens.
What do you love about your job? The camaraderie and teamwork.
Any special moments/memories about your job you’d like to share? The Corps has made my wife and kids feel like family.
