07/20/09 - $10.7 Million Collected from Voluntary Disclosure Program
SPRINGFIELD – The Department of Revenue has collected more than $4 million from mailings sent to 591 Illinois businesses as part of its ongoing effort to educate taxpayers and enforce existing tax laws. Another 119 businesses, who did not receive the mailing, came forward and paid $6.7 million in Use Tax owed under Illinois’ existing Voluntary Disclosure program.

06/11/09 - Web Certification Launched For Unemployment Insurance
Process Safe, Easy and Improves Customer Service
CHICAGO – In an effort to improve service for thousands of people collecting unemployment insurance, the Illinois Department of Employment Security launched a new way for claimants to certify that they are out of work and eligible for benefits. The new Internet Certification feature is the latest customer-service effort to streamline operations and make it easier to interact with the department, officials said Thursday.

06/05/09 - Illinois Division of Banking closes Bank of Lincolnwood and appoints FDIC as receiver
All depositors are protected with no consumer losses; Republic Bank of Chicago, Oak Brook, to assume all deposits
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s (IDFPR) Division of Banking today announced that it has taken possession and control of Bank of Lincolnwood, Lincolnwood, Illinois at 5 pm for the purpose of receivership and liquidation. The bank’s main office was in Lincolnwood and one branch location also located in Lincolnwood. The Division of Banking appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver for the bank under the provisions of the Illinois Banking Act. No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed.
