Ensuring that Oregonians have safe drinking water
The Drinking Water Program administers and enforces drinking water quality standards for public water systems in the State of Oregon, focuses resources in the areas of highest public health benefit, and promotes voluntary compliance with state and federal drinking water standards. The program also emphasizes prevention of contamination through source water protection, provides technical assistance to water systems, and water system operator training.

Domestic Well Testing for Real Estate Transactions
How to Disinfect a Well
Wells can be temporarily contaminated with coliform bacteria from construction and maintenance work, and by flooding in the vicinity. After maintenance activities, or significant flooding in your area (and before using well water), please follow the procedures in our Well Disinfection Fact Sheet.
Circuit Rider Program
Is a free technical assistance and service program for Community Water Systems that serve populations of less than 10,000 people.

Safe Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (SDWRLF)
SDWRLF is a low interest loan program designed to finance drinking water system improvements needed to maintain compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. Community and nonprofit non-community water systems are eligible for funding. General loan fund information includes how and when to submit a "Letter of Interest", and a list of projects ready to be funded.
Water System Training Classes
Water System Operator Certification
All Community and NonTransient NonCommunity water systems must be supervised by a certified operator. The Oregon Drinking Water Program administers the certification of drinking water system operators.
