A Message from Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal:

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), also known as the national economic stimulus bill, will have a significant impact on Wyoming.

As the nation faces the most difficult economic circumstances in decades, this bill is designed to get the economy going again and to generate much needed jobs.

In Wyoming, the ARRA will affect numerous funding formulas, discretionary grants and existing programs that already help distribute federal funds to our residents. Among the many infrastructure projects that could benefit from these funds are highway projects, water infrastructure projects and efforts to improve energy efficiency.

Beginning in February 2009, I assembled a team of representatives from state agencies that would be affected by the ARRA and asked them to begin analysis of this very complex federal bill.

The information you find on this Web site is the result of this team’s concerted effort to analyze the bill, to understand how much funding could become available to Wyoming and to document the ways in which this funding would be delivered to the state.

This site will be updated regularly so that you can follow how we are putting this funding to work in Wyoming.
