Governor’s Commission on Senior Services

The Governor's Commission on Senior Services is an official state commission made up of volunteers appointed by the governor and two legislators, one from the House and one from the Senate. The Commission works to further the interests of Oregon’s seniors.

Oregon Disabilities Commission (ODC)

The Commission is charged by state statute to advise the Department of Human Services, the Governor, the Legislative Assembly and appropriate state agency Administrators on issues related to achieving the full economic, social, legal and political equity of individuals with disabilities. ODC also acts as a coordinating link between and among public and private organizations services individuals with disabilities.

Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC)

The Commission is responsible for ensuring the quality of home care services that are funded by the Department of Human Services for seniors and people with disabilities.

• BenefitsCheckUp. A service of the National Council on the Aging, BenefitsCheckUp helps thousands every day to find programs for people ages 55 and over that may pay for some of their costs of prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other essential items or services.
• Eldercare Locator. U.S. Administration on Aging site offering a nationwide, toll-free eldercare locator service. Eldercare Locator has helped older adults and their caregivers find local services for seniors.
• Labor Statistics, The Bureau of. Fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the field of labor economics and statistics.
• Leadership Council of Aging Organizations - Coalition of 50 national non-profit organizations concerned with the well-being of America's older population and committed to representing their interests in the policy-making arena.
• National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Advocacy group for Social Security and Medicare and for all Americans who seek a healthy, productive and secure retirement.
• Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities. The mission of the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities is to create change that improves the lives of Oregonians with developmental disabilities.
• Oregon Developmental Disabilities Coalition. The mission of the Oregon DD Coalition is to promote quality service and supports which respectfully further the rights, equality, justice, and inclusion for all Oregonians with developmental disabilities and their families.
• Portland State University, Institute on Aging. Research, training and service to the community related to the issues, policies, and programs that affect the quality of life for elders and their families.
