MISSION STATEMENT and FUNCTION

The Board of Dental Examiners is responsible for the protection of the public by governing and regulating the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene in New Hampshire. The Board has four principle functions:

1. to examine, license, and register applicants whom it finds to be qualified to practice dentistry and dental hygiene;

2. to ensure that all licensees are in compliance with the Dental Practice Act (RSA 317-A) and the Board’s administrative rules;

3. to make, amend, and adopt reasonable rules and regulations governing the conduct of dentists, dental hygienists, and other dental auxiliaries;

4. to undertake, when appropriate, adjudicatory proceedings and disciplinary action against licensees;
