Bureau of Aeronautics
Air Rail Highway Bike/Ped Public Transit
Aviation is exciting! Many educators have discovered the powerful learning effects that aviation has on students: The excitement of aviation motivates them to learn and participate more actively in their education. Aviation is rewarding! Air transportation offers a great future for those interested in the challenges of tomorrow. Aviation is demanding! It demands of its workers technical excellence, the ability to think, to communicate and to perform in a fast-paced environment. The Bureau's Aviation Education Program is part of an effort to plan for the challenges of tomorrow's air transportation systems. To prepare for the future, we help educators prepare young people to become the next generation of aviation practitioners.

Scholarship Applications
The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is inviting applications for 30 scholarships that will be awarded in 2008 to qualified college students who do not have to be a dependent of an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.). The new "Competitive Non-A.A.E. Scholarships" are for $1,000 each. The student will be evaluated on a point system that is based on his or her grade point average, school level and whether the student is enrolled in a bachelor degree or associate degree program. For more information on how to recommend a candidate for one of these awards, contact AAAE Member Services at member.services@aaae.org, or visit the Web site at www.aaae.org/foundation.
