Sally Ride Science developed Science Can Take Her Places! This website encourages girls’ interests in science, math, and technology. A research-based guide for parents, grades 4-7, is linked and easily downloaded. The parent’s guide is available in Spanish.
Guide to Promising Practices in Informal Information Technology Education for Girls
The National Center for Women in Information Technology and Girl Scouts of the USA published the Guide to Promising Practices in Informal Information Technology Education for Girls. The report was prepared by Carrie Liston, Karen Peterson, and Vicky Ragan and is based on a survey of 156 programs. It identifies eight practices that contribute most to success.
Three publications on model programs
The National Science Foundation’s Research on Gender in Science and Engineering program released New Formulas for America’s Workforce I & II, and New Tools. All three publications catalog projects and products funded by the program from 1993 through 2005. They represent educational projects, dissemination products and events, and basic social science research.

Cyberchase Travel Edition
This tool, which can be used independently or in conjunction with the television show, provides hands-on activities that bring math concepts to life. National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM)
The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) is an NSF supported project that began in 1999 to develop a library of uniquely interactive, web-based virtual manipulated or concept tutorials, mostly in the form of Java applets, for mathematics instruction (K-12 emphasis).

Women at MIT
The Association of MIT Alumnae website celebrates 125 Years of women at MIT, from 1873-1998. Stories of pioneers are included with lots of photos and a bibliography. The stories are tied to trends in women’s rights in 20th Century.

World of Math Online
