Governor Announces Interim Director of the Oregon Health Fund Board
Carol Robinson’s appointment is effective January 1, 2009

(Salem) – Governor Ted Kulongoski today announced the appointment of Carol Robinson to the position of Interim Executive Director of the Oregon Health Fund Board.  Carol’s appointment is effective January 1, 2009 and she will serve through the legislative session.

“Carol has the right balance between health policy experience and working with the legislature to step into this important role at this critical juncture in the process,” Governor Ted Kulongoski said.  “I am pleased that Carol will help us continue the work of the Board to implement important strategies that both control the costs of health care and expand access so that ultimately every Oregonian has high quality health care.”

Carol Robinson most recently served as the Executive Director of the Oregon Health Forum, where she worked closely with the Oregon Health Fund Board to solicit public input on the health care reform plan developed over the last year. Prior to that position, Ms. Robinson served as the Director of Public Relations and Development for the Oregon Business Association and as Legislative Coordinator for the Coalition for School Funding Now.

“I'm honored to help advance the Oregon Health Fund Board's work during the upcoming legislative session,” Carol Robinson said.  “The Board’s plan for health reform carries out the governor’s priority to expand coverage for Oregon's children and most vulnerable adults, while also taking critical steps to address the escalation of costs.”

The Oregon Health Fund Board was established under Senate Bill 329 to develop a comprehensive plan to provide affordable access to health care for all Oregonians.  The Board recently delivered its plan to the Governor and State Legislature for consideration during the 2009 legislative session.  For more information about the Governor’s health care agenda for 2009 and the OHFB plan, click here.
