Governor orders flags at half-staff in memory of Oregon soldier
Flags to be lowered Saturday, November 1, 2008, in honor of Army Private First Class Cody J. Eggleston
 
(Salem) – Today Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, November 1, 2008, in memory of Army Private First Class Cody J. Eggleston of Redmond, OR .
 
Eggleston, 21, died at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center on October 24th of injuries sustained in combat on October 16th in Baqubah, Iraq. Private First Class Eggleston was assigned to Stryker Brigade: 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Wainright, Alaska. 
 
“Cody was an outstanding soldier who served his state and his country with honor and courage,” said Governor Kulongoski. “He will be missed by his friends and family and his sacrifice for our nation will never be forgotten.”
