Certificates
issued by the Division of Revenue may now be validated online.
Currently this applies to formation certificates issued online
and all standing certificates.
If
you need to verify the validity of the document, you will need
the certificate number which is located under the printed seal
of the State of New Jersey. Documents that do not contain a
certificate number, that are printed on blue border paper, or
have a gold embossed seal may not be validated online.
If
the document is not verified, you should rekey the certificate
number to ensure accuracy. On occasion an issued certificate
may be invalid because payment was not properly received or
documentation from an out-of-state entity was not provided.
At this point you may wish to order either a standing or status
report to verify the existence/authorization of the entity in
New Jersey. You may also call the 609.292.9292 or write to NJ
Division of Revenue, Certification and Status Unit, PO Box 451,
Trenton, NJ 08646 to address the issue.
