Governor to Renominate Attorney General Kelly Ayotte

CONCORD - Gov. John Lynch announced today that he will renominate Kelly Ayotte to the post of Attorney General at Wednesday’s Governor and Council meeting. The Council must approve the nomination.

“For the past four years, Kelly Ayotte and I have worked closely together to protect children from sexual predators; to strengthen ethics laws; to protect New Hampshire’s environment and consumers; and to keep New Hampshire safe,” Gov. Lynch said. “That is why I am pleased to renominate her to serve as New Hampshire’s Attorney General,” Gov. Lynch said.

Ayotte, of Nashua, has served as Attorney General since July 2004. Previously she served as deputy attorney general, chief of the Attorney General's homicide unit, as associate attorney general, assistant attorney general, as an attorney at McLane Graf, Raulerson & Middleton in Manchester, and briefly as legal counsel to former governor Craig Benson.
She received her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1990 and her law degree from Villanova University School of Law in Pennsylvania in 1993.

“It is a privilege to serve New Hampshire as Attorney General. I deeply appreciate Governor Lynch's decision to reappoint me to serve another term as Attorney General,” Ayotte said. “I look forward to continuing to work with the men and women of law enforcement across the State to keep New Hampshire the safest state in the nation. I remain committed to working hard with the Governor to keep NH a special place to live and work.”
