The CA$HLINK II small client software must be located locally on the user machine. This software can be installed via a CD or via download from the Internet. The CA$HLINK II server will automatically manage the downloading process, including updates to the application. The client is downloaded as a self-extracting, self-installing executable.
In addition to requiring software on the client-side, CA$HLINK II also requires Internet access on the part of the users. Users will connect to the CA$HLINK II website through their organizations' Internet Service Provider.
CA$HLINK II access with a Local Area Network (LAN) connection to the Internet:
Port 80 for HTTP and Port 443 for HTTPS (Secure HTTP) must be open and configured to allow for connectivity through all firewalls, routers, etc. If the network employs a proxy, its hostname and port information must be available to complete the installation process.
CA$HLINK II access with a Dial-up (modem) connection to the Internet:
Access via a dial-up connection should be reviewed with management personnel responsible for computer security at your location.
