The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) has named Dorothy
Isherwood as its Director of Administration.
An independent Federal agency headquartered in Chicago, the RRB
administers the $8.5 billion-a-year benefit programs provided under the Federal
Railroad Retirement and Unemployment Insurance Acts covering the nation's
railroad workforce and their families.
As Director of Administration, Ms. Isherwood will oversee and
coordinate those offices providing management and administrative support
services for the agency. She will also serve as a member of the RRB's Executive
Committee, which is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency and
for making recommendations to the three-member Board on agency-related policy
issues.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Isherwood had been serving as an
Assistant to the Chief Information Officer. Before that she had served as Chief
of Program Analysis, and as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive
Officer.
Ms. Isherwood is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.A.
1973) and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management (M.B.A. 1988).
She and her husband, William, reside in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
