RULES HEARING SCHEDULED: On Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 10:00 am, the commission will hold a rules hearing on proposed amendments to the horse racing rules, Divisions 110-160, and on Division 200 regarding the simulcast intrastate off-track wagering facilities. For more detailed info, please see the Statute and Rules page (link on the left).

UPCOMING MEETINGS: On Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 1:30 pm, the commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at the Portland State Office Building located in Portland, Oregon.

SEPTEMBER: On Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 2:00 pm, the commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at the Harney County Chamber of Commerce located at 484 N Broadway Avenue, in Burns, Oregon.
Oregon Racing Commission
Mission
The Mission of the Oregon Racing Commission is to regulate and to facilitate all aspects of the pari-mutuel industry in the State of Oregon for the benefit of the citizenry, the licensees, the participants and the State of Oregon.

The Oregon Racing Commission was established in 1933 as part of the Pari-Mutuel Wagering Act and has the authority to regulate horse and greyhound racing in the State of Oregon.

The Oregon Lottery and casino gambling are regulated by other agencies.

Summer Race Meets
The Eastern Oregon Livestock Show will kick off the summer schedule on Friday, June 12, 2009 through Sunday, June 14, 2009 for three days of racing.

Grants Pass Downs will begin on Saturday, June 13, 2009 and race on consecutive weekends through the 4th of July.
