Efforts by the Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) and Sex Offender Treatment Board (SOTB) to promote certification by the state's sex offender therapists have resulted in more than 50 therapists certified during the initial year voluntary certification became available.
While currently voluntary under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 675.360-410, sex offender therapist certification is increasingly becoming a requirement by government agencies hiring or contracting for sex offender therapists.
