First, let me say it's great that you're all interested in careers and internships with the Department of State! It's a really rewarding (and fun!) career. I'd suggest visiting careers.state.gov as a start. Lots of info there that will help you better understand what would be the best fit for you.

Hi, my name is Herman L. Lantz and I am very interested in a new challenging career with the U. S. Department of State! I just retired from Harford County Public Schools after 20 years, here in Harford County, Maryland. I have served in the U.S. Army in the Intelligence Field, stationed in Augsburg, Germany and worked at Gablingen Kaserne and held a top secret clearance. I have a great work ethic, fantastic people skills and work great with a team or independently.

Hi,
My name is Eric Alarcon and I reside in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami, FL area. I extremely interested in a career opportunity within the US Dept of State. I am a successful undergraduate and student from the University of Phoenix in Business Management, and I recently was accepted to the graduate program at the University of Maryland University College for my graduate degree in Homeland Security and Technology. In my career I have focused on 2 main areas, Aviation and Logistics. My goals are to one day join the US Dept. of State in order to leverage both my education and years of experience in meaningful roles that will benefit my country and its people through civil service. I would welcome any tips, advise, or help in general in order to successfully achieve my dream. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Patricia and I'm also interested in a new career in foreign affairs or country. I have been an Educator for the past 20 years working with all levels from k12 to adult learners. I also teach English to ELL/ESOL students for the past 10 years. I especially would like to live and work in Santiago, Chile. I have been surfing the net unsuccessfully. I don't know where to start, would any one have any suggestions or ideas where to begin my search?

Hi, my name is Chris, and I'm really interested in a career in foreign affairs, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding an internship or possible experience for grad school. I'd especially like anything related to East Asia, since that's my concentration. Anyone have any ideas?
