HUD Secretary Donovan Approves Recovery Act Plans for Iowa Communities
HUD approved the plans for ten communities in Iowa to use $3.6 million in federal grants to help stabilize and revive local neighborhoods, rehabilitate affordable housing, and improve key public facilities. Read the press release.

HUD Awards $16.7 Million in Homelessness Prevention Funds to Iowa Communities
HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan awarded more than $16.7 million to seven grantees in Iowa to rapidly re-house families who fall into homelessness, or prevent them from becoming homeless in the first place. Read the press release

HUD "Sweat Equity" Grants Now Available

A recent expansion of the Making Home Affordable program now allows borrowers who are current but up to 125 percent underwater on their mortgage, and have mortgages currently owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to refinance those loans according to the terms of the Home Affordable Refinance program established earlier this year.
