U.S., Afghan Forces Conduct Night Operation

U.S. soldiers Sling Load a Howitzer

U.S Army soldiers prepare to hook up a M777 lightweight howitzer to a CH-47F Chinook helicopter which will be sling loaded to a forward operating base in Spin Buldak in southern Afghanistan, Aug. 2, 2009. The soldiers are assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division’s Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, and the helicopter crew is assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Aviation Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade.
