Description: Section 408 of SAFETEA-LU established an incentive grant program to assist States in improving the timeliness, accuracy, completeness, uniformity, integration, and accessibility of their safety data systems. The Section 408 grant funds will help States address the most pressing data system problems. |

The Section 408 of SAFETEA-LU will provide the total of $34,500,000 in FY 2009 to the 49 qualifying States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 4 territories to support improvements of traffic safety information. |
