Startup awards are available for new projects that wish to investigate using NERSC resources, or who wish to port or develop new codes. A request for a Startup project account may be made at any time during the year, and decisions for Startup requests are made by NERSC within one to three weeks after applying. NERSC Analytics

The Analytics Program supports NERSC users by providing consulting and collaborative services to help users implement applications and strategies for data management, data analysis, data mining, visualization of data, and data exploration. Go

2010 INCITE Call for Proposals

The INCITE program invites proposals for large-scale, computationally intensive research projects to run at the DOE leadership computing facilities at Oak Ridge and Argonne. Please note that starting in 2010 INCITE awards will no longer be made at NERSC. The deadline to apply is 1:59 pm EDT on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. [MORE]

April 2009 Newsletter

In March and April NERSC increased the I/O capabilities of Franklin, added 110 terabytes of storage to the NERSC Global Filesystem, and made upgrades to NERSC's SSH software to improve security and increase the performance of data transfers.

A network performance monitoring tool called PerfSONAR is being used to accelerate big geographically distributed science collabortations such as experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland and the Daya Bay Neutrino Experiment in Southern China.
