The U.S. Census Bureau is located with access to the Metrorail. We encourage visitors to take the Metrorail to our building rather than driving to Suitland; parking on our campus will require higher level of involvement from security, which will delay your entry to the building. Visitors may ride the Green Line train to the Suitland Metro station, in the direction of Branch Avenue. The U.S. Census Bureau is also easily accessible by car. For a link to the D.C. metro subway system, see: http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm. DIRECTIONS TO THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU (DRIVING): From Northern Virginia:
From Bethesda/Silver Spring/Wheaton:
From Baltimore:
From Washington:
DIRECTIONS TO THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU (METRORAIL): Take the Metro Green Line toward Branch Avenue and exit at the Suitland Metro Station. Go up the escalator to the Mezzanine level. Proceed past the fare card machines and take the Up Escalator at the sign on the wall, which reads "To Parking Structure, To Suitland Federal Center Shuttle (SFC)." Do Not exit at the mezzanine level as this level is for Metro buses only. At the top of the escalator, continue through the covered bridge until you reach the parking garage. The access point (Gate 7) to the U.S. Census Bureau from the Suitland Metro Station is located across from the led-end entrance to the Metro garage. Cross the street using the pedestrian walkway, under the canopy, to the new visitors center. Proceed through the main entrance. |
AIRPORT INFORMATION: Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) - DCA is the nearest airport to the U.S. Census Bureau's headquarters. |
HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS: We strongly advise you to find accommodations in Washington, DC. Suitland, MD has limited accommodations and fewer dining options. Please visit the link below for more information: |
INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the case of inclement weather, please visit http://opm.gov/status/index.aspx or call (202) 606-1900 for information about federal government closings or delays. If the federal government is closed, then the workshop is cancelled for that day only and will resume the next day the federal government is open. If there is a delay arrival for government workers, we ask that participants get an early start and report to the workshop at the regularly scheduled time. |
