Karen, Please see the below response from Dr. Hanson. The exact cost of ABA therapy, or any other therapy, will vary by area of the country and by how a family, in collaboration with their TRICARE ECHO case manager, arranges and apportions services. The best way to figure out how much therapy will be covered under what conditions is to establish eligibility for TRICARE ECHO, contact a TRICARE ECHO case manager, and discuss the options and best arrangements for a particular child. Dr. Hanson, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to raise awareness of autism and its impact on the military family! During your presentation you mentioned the effectiveness of behavior intervention and you mentioned specifically ABA therapy as an effective treatment for autism and the importance of providing the intensive services for a child newly diagnosed (up to 40 hours a week). Is the $36,000 ECHO benefit enough to cover that intensive level of therapy? Thank you again for rais
