Performance Results |
Upon completion of this course the
participant will be able to:
- Discuss how the NTSB investigators
work on-scene at an accident and the role of a “party” member
- Work in a close and coordinated manner with the
NTSB investigators on-scene
- Describe the NTSB accident investigation from initial notification to final board
meeting and recommendations
- Explain what types of services and support are available to family members of victims of railroad accidents
- Describe the role of the NTSB Office of Public Affairs in the release of relevant and appropriate information to the public

- Potential participants in an NTSB investigation: investigative,
safety and management personnel employed by railroads or equipment/component
