This 3-mile, one-way auto-tour route traverses the edge of the Refuge's Main Pool, ending at NY State Route 89. Along the Drive, you can pull over for viewing any time, but please remain in your car until you reach designated viewing areas. Here's where you'll see the greatest variety of wildlife from ducks, geese, and herons to shorebirds, songbirds, bald eagles and other birds of prey! The Drive offers great birding and photography opportunities. You may also see turtles, muskrat, beaver, white-tailed deer and red fox.
You'll often see Refuge staff and volunteers conducting surveys or other management activities. Feel free to stop and talk with them during your visit!
