Education and Labor Committee

Congressman Grijalva serves on the House Education and Labor Committee, which has jurisdiction over legislation addressing higher education, elementary and secondary schools, Head Start,  juvenile justice, community service programs, pensions, minimum wage and workers’ rights. During his tenure on the Committee, the Congressman has worked to pass legislation that cut the student loan interest rate in half, strengthened pre-k education for our nation’s neediest families, increased the minimum wage for the first time in ten years, and renewed a federal investment in student aid.

During the 111th Congress, Congressman Grijalva will serve on the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as on the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections.
