ACE Military Programs

Since 1945, the American Council on Education (ACE) has provided a collaborative link between the U. S. Department of Defense and higher education through the review of military training and experiences for the award of equivalent college credits for members of the Armed Forces. Registrars, admissions officers, academic advisors, career counselors, and DoD Voluntary Education professionals have a basis for recognizing military educational experiences in terms of civilian academic credit through the Military Guide Online.

Military Evaluations Program

The evaluation process is founded on high quality standards of practice including a rigorous review and selection of subject-matter experts and academic faculty, a site visit to analyze the content, and an evaluator consensus in determining the learning outcomes and appropriate academic credit recommendations.

The department provides guidance to service members, civilians, military education centers, and colleges and universities interpreting military transcripts and documents.

Military Registries

The department provides quality assurance and policy guidance to the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps in support of:

More than 2,300 colleges and universities recognize these ACE-endorsed transcripts as official documentation of military experiences and accurate records of applicable ACE credit recommendations.

Members of the US Air Force and Coast Guard may receive transcripts from their respective transcript service centers.
