Research Interests/Duties

I am an ecologist working within the Aquatic Ecology Group at PSW. Our research includes the population dynamics, habitat ecology, and potential impacts of climate change on high elevation herpetofauna and California Golden Trout. Current research is conducted in high elevation (>9000 ft) lakes and streams or meadows in federally designated wilderness areas of the Sierra Nevada.

My primary research interests are:

Habitat ecology and population structure of amphibians with an emphasis towards conservation. My past research includes: (1) the effects of wildland fire on salamander habitat in the Klamath - Siskiyou and Cascade mountains and (2) the spatial ecology and site occupancy of anurans in seasonal wetlands.

Other interests include:

- Wetland ecology, conservation, and restoration
- Aquatic community ecology and impacts of land management (fish stocking, grazing) on species diversity and their habitats
