Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge has received a $350,000 grant as part of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding from the U.S. Department of the Interior. The funds will be used to construct a four-person bunkhouse.
“This project will improve the facilities at Crab Orchard, perhaps the most unique wildlife refuge in the entire country,” said Costello. “Southern Illinois has many beautiful places to visit, and some maintenance and other needs have been ignored in recent years at our wildlife refuges and national parks. These funds are another important domestic investment made possible by the Recovery Act that will help our economy.”
