Below is a list of all the earmark requests we have received to fund projects within our district. While all projects cannot be funded through the federal budget (an * indicates those projects that have been submitted for consideration), these requests demonstrate the variety of needs facing our region. The appropriations process is one way that we can help ensure that a fair share of our tax dollars are returned to our area to fund projects that provide jobs and improve our communities.

* Benton (#1) – Sewer Interceptor Replacement City of Benton P.O. Box 640 500 West Main Benton, IL 62812 |
$620,000 | Installing 3100 feet of 30” plastic sewer pipe to fix the sewer interceptor. Benton's 30" sewer interceptor was installed in the 1920's and has developed several cracks, displacement and root intrusions. The potential for a collapse within the interceptor is of great concern to the City, as it would restrict the wastewater flow of the entire city. |
