Successful Practices in Public HR

Successful practices are programs that were implemented to bring success to organizations as well as those that are designed to meet new challenges. The IPMA-HR Successful Practices task force, chaired by Sam Wilkins, Director, Office of Human Resources, South Carolina (click here for a list of all committee members) created the following criteria to assist in identifying successful practices:

  • Results that are measurable through quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
  • Recognized positive outcomes concerning increased customer satisfaction
  • Recognized positive impact on the return on investment, cost savings, productivity or quality
  • Replicable such that the program is transferable or portable to another organization with or without modifications
  • Beneficial to IPMA-HR members

These practices are updated as new material is made available to IPMA-HR. The purpose is to encourage excellence in public HR by providing information to our members about programs that have been successful in the public sector. IPMA-HR is collecting case studies on successful practices in HR. Please submit a detailed description of your program to asilas@ipma-hr.org
