Dear Potential AmeriCorps Applicants,
Serve. Guam! Commission (SGC), the Governor's Commission for National & Community Service, promotes and supports volunteerism throughout our Territoly and provided over $2.2 Million dollars in AmeriCorps funding the past two years. We are dedicated to uniting individuals in service to their communities and achieving demonstrable results by funding AmeriCorps programs that meet Guam's educational, public safety, homeland security, environmental and other unmet human needs. We are proud to announce our Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 2007-2008 program year.
Over 140 individuals have had the opportunity to serve as an AmeriCorps Members in our AmeriCorps programs the past two years. AmeriCorps members get amazing things done and make a significant difference in the lives of so many of our island residents. We are proud of our AmeriCorps accomplishments.
Through this RFP, both community organizations and governmental agencies throughout Guam can compete for funding to expand or create high-impact service opportunities for members of their community. Serve Guam! Commission will consider applications for new and continuing AmeriCorps programs which focus on needs in the community in the areas of Education and Environmental projects (but not limited to). Each program will offer members a living allowance and an education award.

Please read all the application instructions and guidelines carefully. NOTE: All applicants must attend ONE of the AmeriCorps Communitv Outreach Session and the trainine and technical assistance sessions.
The SGC office must receive hard copies of all applications entered online in eGrant no later that 5:00pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007. You will be notified by Wednesday, June 13, 2007 if your application has been accepted.
