Beginning in July 2003 all new cases filed in the United States District Court of South Dakota will be placed in the Court's new Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system.

The new system provides "24/7" realtime Internet access to docket sheets and court documents.
A key feature of the CM/ECF System is that it accepts documents filed electronically over the Internet. While it is not necessary that documents be filed electronically to have them entered into the CM/ECF system, electronic filing is strongly encouraged by the Court. The Electronic Case Files (ECF) portion of this new system will be available in January, 2004.
