2009 Stipend Table for NLM Trainees
NLM trainees and fellows receive stipends as a subsistence allowance to help
defray living expenses during the training experience. The awards are not provided
as a condition of employment with either the Federal government or the sponsoring
institution. The stipend level for the first year is determined by the number
of full years of relevant post-degree experience at the time the award is issued
(not at the time of activation). Relevant experience may include research (including
research in industry), teaching, clinical duties, or other time spent in full-time
employment in a health-related field.
