Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is a proven mechanism for resolving disputes in a manner that is often quicker, less expensive, and more satisfying to the litigants than a full-blown adversarial process. The Western District of Washington’s ADR program is detailed in Local Civil Rule 39.1.

Alternatives include Mediation, Arbitration, Summary Jury Trial, Judicial Settlement Conferences, and Other Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures.
