The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) announces the availability of funds for fiscal year (FY) 2007 to expand/enhance grant activities carried out under the Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women and Residential Treatment for Women and their Children Program funded in 2004.
The purpose of these grants is to expand the availability of comprehensive, high quality residential substance abuse treatment services for low-income women, age 18 and over, who are pregnant, postpartum women, or other parenting women, and their minor children, age 17 and under, who have limited access to quality health services. The system of care should continue to improve the overall treatment outcomes for the women, her children, and the family unit as a whole. SAMHSA/CSAT is announcing the availability of one-year supplemental funding to enable grantees from the 2004 cohort to continue providing residential treatment services to women and their minor children as required under the 2004 Request for Applications (RFA). Additional information on this program may be found in the original funding announcement, TI-04-004, included in this (RFA) package.
Eligibility for this funding opportunity is limited to the cohort of 14 PPW/RWC grantees funded in FY 2004 whose awards expire in September 2007. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to allow these grantees to compete for an additional year of funding.
