Mailed approximately 517,000 advance notices on April 27, 2009, to beneficiaries who are to receive the Economic Recovery Payments of $250 from the Railroad Retirement Board in late May. Continue work on programming and analysis for one-time Economic Recovery Act payments and for Extended Unemployment Benefits.
Submitted draft Recovery Act program plans to OMB for review. Plan to issue one-time Recovery Act payments to approximately 517,000 entitled railroad retirement beneficiaries in late May 2009.
Issued a question and answer format press release on May 1 regarding Extended Unemployment Benefits under the Recovery Act.
