The Office of the Attorney General is required by law to develop a program to publicly identify certain parents who are delinquent in the payment of child support. The program shall include the displaying of photographs and profiles of delinquent parents in public and private locations. The OAG is instructed to use posters, the news media, and other cost-effective methods to display photographs and profiles of certain parents who are in arrears in paying child support. The OAG's Child Support Evader initiative seeks tips from the public to locate parents who have gone underground to avoid their court-ordered obligation to pay child support. For a parent to be listed as a Child Support Evader, the following conditions must be met:

  • Court-ordered delinquent support must be in excess of $5,000,
  • An arrest warrant must have been issued,
  • The location of the non-custodial parent must be unknown,
  • The non-custodial parent must not have made any payments in the last six months,
  • The non-custodial parent must not be involved in bankruptcy proceedings or receiving welfare benefits, and
  • The custodial parent must sign a confidentiality waiver allowing certain case information to be made public.

All children need the love and support of both parents. We at the Office of the Attorney General encourage all parents to maintain close relationships with their children, and we are working to ensure that no child suffers unnecessary emotional or financial hardship. The parents featured in this section of our Web site are evading their court-ordered responsibilities to their children. We ask your help in locating them.
