The Scientific Computing Group is looking for an experienced Research/Staff Scientist to join the Computational Research Division (CRD) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) to participate in a research project to investigate climate changes.

Computational Science Postdoctoral Fellow (23380) for the Computational Research Division. The Scientific Computing Group has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work on the development of algorithms and their application to large-scale computational science problems that are relevant to DOE and LBNL.

Computational Science Postdoctoral Fellow (22487) for the Computational Research Division. The Scientific Computing Group has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work on the development of computational algorithms and their application to scientific areas that are of interest to DOE and LBNL.

Computer Systems Engineer 2 (23381) for the Computational Research Division. The Biological Data Management and Technology Center (BDMTC) serves as a source of expertise in and provides support for data management and bioinformatics tool development projects at the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), the Life Sciences and Physical Biosciences Divisions at LBNL, Biomedical Centers at UCSF, the California Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research (QB3), and other similar organizations in the Bay Area.

Console Attendant (Administrative Assistant 2) (23275) for the Information Technology Division. Reporting to the Telephony Systems Group Leader, operate on attendant consoles servicing incoming and outgoing calls and related operator functions. Process requests for pagers, telephone directories, and update directory lookup information.

Energy Sciences Network (ESnet) Project Manager (23354) for the Computational Research Division. As the next step in high-speed networking, ESnet has been funded by the US American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to build a prototype 100Gbps wide area network as well as a testbed to investigate the capabilities of new protocols and applications on a 100 Gbps infrastructure. ESnet is looking for an exceptional project manager to be a part of the ESnet team.

Network and Software Engineer (22917) for the Computational Research Division. Work with Senior Engineers, ESnet site personnel, the staff of other network service providers and vendors to support ESnet.

Oracle Database Administrator (22251) for the Information Technology Division. Working as a member of the Information Systems Database Administration team, perform database administration (DBA) functions.

Postdoctoral Fellow (22862) for the Computing Sciences Division. The fellows will have the opportunity to gain experience in the NERSC production environment facility and practical knowledge of the skills necessary for deployment of large-scale multi-user hardware and software.

Postdoctoral Researcher (22587) for the Computational Research Division. Participate in research projects to develop, analyze, and optimize performance of accelerator modeling codes on HPC computer systems and applications.

Senior Systems Administrator (21831) for the Information Technology Division. Serve as a senior systems administrator in the Central Infrastructure Support Group that manages the Laboratory's mission essential computing environment and provides system administration and Internet Security support for the IT user community.

Software Developer (22790) for the Information Technology Division. This position will serve as the principal technical resource for Facilities Systems' computer systems implementation and development initiatives.

Science and Technology Communications Specialist (23355) for the Computing Sciences Division. This position is primary to help configure and run a network testbed for the research community. The testbed will be used to create an experimental network research environment where researchers can prototype dynamic provisioning of multiple-layers and multiple-domain hybrid packet/circuit-switched networks.

Software and Network Engineer (22688) for the Computational Research Division. Be a lead software developer on a wide range of network-related projects, including projects related to dynamic virtual circuits, network monitoring and troubleshooting, etc.

Software and Network Engineer (22963) for the Computational Research Division. This position is primary to help configure and run a network testbed for the research community. The testbed will be used to create an experimental network research environment where researchers can prototype dynamic provisioning of multiple-layers and multiple-domain hybrid packet/circuit-switched networks.

Software Engineer (22883) for the Computational Research Division. The Software Engineer will be responsible for the development of microbial genome and metagenome data analysis, exploration, and visualization tools for the Integrated Microbial Genomes (IMG) and Integrated Microbial Genomes with Microbiome Samples (IMG/M).

Research Scientist (22863) for the Computational Research Division. The LBNL Future Technologies Group (FTG) does research in high-performance computing (HPC) technology for petascale systems, including work in compilers, operating systems (incl. cyber security aspects), runtime systems, performance analysis and modeling, benchmarking and performance engineering of scientific application programs.

Unix/Linux Administrator (22731) for the Computational Research Division. As a member of the Infrastructure Group, manage, configure and test hardware and OS installations of all ESnet UNIX office and server machines.
