Step 1: Complete and submit the Online AESDirect Registration Form

Use Register New Account to complete and submit the AESDirect Registration form.

Shortly after your registration information has been validated and accepted, AESDirect will send an e-mail to the nominated account administrator. The purpose of this e-mail is to confirm the e-mail address of the registering account's administrator.

The account administrator must respond to this e-mail as instructed to complete the account registration.

Step 2: Confirm Registration and Create Account Administrator

After an individual has successfully registered for an AESDirect account they will receive an Account confirmation via E-Mail with directions to follow in order to activate their account.

In the body of the Account Confirmation e-mail will be a URL back to AESDirect.

1. Click the URL or Copy and Paste it into Internet Explorer
2. You will be brought to the Account Administrator creation page
3. Create a Username
4. Create a Password

   The password must be at least 8 characters long and contain characters from 3 of these 4 groups:

   • Lowercase Letters
   • Uppercase Letters
   • Numbers
   • Special Characters: ¡ # $ %
     
     
5. When finished, click 'Submit'

If the Username is taken by another user, or the Password does not conform to the requirements, you will be notified on the next page. Users will have as many chances as necessary to find a unique username and a conforming password.

Step 3: Take the AESDirect Interactive Certification Quiz

Once your initial Account Administrator User has been created, you will have access to AESDirect.

However, before you can file, you must pass the Activation Quiz. This quiz confirms that you have the knowledge necessary to complete an EEI in AESDirect

1. Login in to AESDirect
   1. Go to http://www.aesdirect.gov
   2. Under 'Already Registered?' Click 'Take Certification Quiz'
   3. Enter your Username
   4. Enter your Password
   5. Click 'OK'
2. You will be presented the first page of the Activation Quiz
3. Proceed through the questions
4. When you are finished, click 'Submit'

Step 4: New Account Activation

Once you have passed the Quiz, your account will be activated. You can begin filing EEIs, creating Profiles and Template files, and creating New Users. To learn how to create Profiles and Template Files, please refer to these sections in the AESDirect User Guide.
