Sutter National Wildlife Refuge
Known to have the largest colonies of white-faced ibis in the Central Valley

Wildlife: Waterfowl are present September through April, peaking during February and March. Many birds and mammals are year-round residents.

Habitat: 2,591 acres comprised of seasonal marsh, permanent ponds, and uplands.

Recreation: Enjoy limited wildlife viewing and photography opportunities from Hughes Road, which bisects the Refuge. Waterfowl and pheasant hunting are permitted seasonally.

Directions: From Yuba City, travel south on Highway 99E approximately 6 miles to Oswald Road. Turn west and proceed 5.5 miles to Schlag Rd. Travel north on Schlag Rd. for about 1/8 of a mile, turn west onto Hughes Rd, which bisects the Refuge.
