The Congressional Document Management Unit (CDMU), Office of the Executive Secretariat, forwards congressional requests requiring a global search for records to the appropriate bureaus. The Assistant Director - External Affairs is the Service's senior contact for global congressional requests and serves as the Service's certifying official. Director's Order 102, August 14, 1998, established Service policy and procedures for responding to congressional requests that involve a Departmentwide or Servicewide search for documents or records.
