These Web pages provide an overview of the prevalence of asthma in children, asthma research and intervention efforts, and additional asthma resources for each of the states in EPA's Pacific Southwest Region. There is considerable variation between states in the information available. Also, there are some important differences (such as racial diversity or percent living in poverty) between the populations of children in each state, which may play a role in asthma rates.
