Banders report the data on a Banding Schedule. U.S. banders should submit one copy of hand written or word processed schedules (the original) to the BBL. In Canada, the bander must also complete the Note for File in duplicate and submit it with each batch of schedules. Canadian banders should contact the BBO for guidance on reporting banding data.
The U.S. Bird Banding Laboratory and the Canadian Bird Banding Office have a computer program available to produce banding schedules on IBM compatible PC computers. Banders should obtain the computer programs and instructions from the appropriate office. In the US, the Band Manager program allows the bander to enter data from other database systems into the program and produces banding schedules and disk output. Click here to learn more about Band Manager. Band Manager users should follow the instructions here.

Paper schedules are still accepted as of February 2005. Data from Band Manager is strongly preferred. Paper schedules will be discontinued when the new database is completed.
